The 止まらないTOMARANAIProject

The 止まらないTOMARANAI Project is a collection of sci-fi, science fantasy, mystery, and philosophical short stories and visual novels by @gamingTimewarp.

The name means "unstoppable" — a nod to the relentless heroes at the heart of these stories, ancient, modern, and future; as well as my personal philosophy of bringing these stories to life, no matter what obstacles stand in the way.

"Project" comes from media like Touhou Project and Kagerou Project: works of fiction that consist of a bunch of interconnected parts, and encourage community contribution.

The blog-like format of the stories on this site is inspired by the tradition of publishing mystery and sci-fi works in pulp magazines, a chapter at a time. Classics such as Dune and the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes were originally published this way.

Nowadays, this has been replaced by the internet. Instead of subscribing to periodicals, people can access fiction according to their preferences whenever they want.

The method of building a universe by slowly introducing parts of a story and earnestly considering user feedback, however, remains prolific. This site aims to be a forum of a similar purpose, with unique and intriguing fiction shaped by the experiences of myself and feedback from the community.

What You'll Find Here

  • Short stories — standalone tales and serialised adventures, from the comedic escapades of Doctor Fancyboots to quieter philosophical pieces.
  • Visual novels — interactive fiction experiences like Cereal Experience Rain (coming soon).
  • Collaborative projects — multi-perspective mysteries like The Five Treasures of Inpei Kaguya, designed to be experienced with friends.

The Philosophy

Come for silly sci-fi and science fantasy stories about silly characters, stay for deep explorations into the human condition. Every story is free to read on this site.
